The Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (IPHE)
How do you know that the plumber you choose will work to the correct quality standards and mandatory requirements? Members of the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering voluntarily commit themselves to be governed by a Code of Professional Standards . Both of our Directors are registered with the IPHE - Steve Jordan as a Registered Plumber - Membership No 029269N and David England as a Member - Membership No 026808J. The Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (IPHE) is the UK's professional and technical body for all plumbing and heating professionals. It originated in 1906 as The Institute of Plumbers and since 1957 has been known as The Institute of Plumbing (IoP). IPHE came into being on 4 June 2004 when IoP corporate members agreed that the new title better reflects their scope of work and firmly identifies plumbing and heating as an engineering discipline.
Members of the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering voluntarily commit themselves to be governed by a Code of Professional Standards. Because members are vetted before being accepted into the Institute, the public can be confident that they will be employing someone with the necessary skills and commitment to high standards. The five points of the code are that whilst at work each individual member of the Institute must:- 1. Perform professionally, competently and responsibly 2. Safeguard the environment and public health and safety 3. Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, standards and codes 4. Broaden, improve and maintain their skills, knowledge and personal qualities 5. Uphold the dignity, standing and reputation of the Institute and the plumbing mechanical engineering services industry
